Trip Reports & Stories

Current conditions from people who were out last week.

Why These Matter

Route conditions change faster than any guide can track. First-hand reports are the most reliable source of current snow levels, trail washouts, permit availability, and the things that didn't make it into the official description.

How to Write a Useful Report

Good reports answer the questions that guides don't — what was the actual snow level, where did the trail fade, was the permit system working.

  • Include the date you were out — not 'last week'
  • Name the specific route or trailhead, not just the area
  • Note current conditions: snow, water sources, trail damage
  • Mention anything that surprised you, even if it seems minor
