Permit requirements vary significantly by area and season. Some Cascade corridors require advance permits from February; others are walk-up.
- Mount Rainier — NPS permit required for summit routes
- North Cascades — self-registration at most trailheads
- Baker — no summit permit, but NW Forest Pass required for parking
- Olympics — wilderness permits for backcountry camping
